Across from the fort, on the corner of Zoutmanstraat and Oranjestraat, a small house may attract your attention. It dates back to the 19^th century and belonged to J. L Hart, a trader. The oldest picture ever made on Aruba, in 1885, features this small house, next to the fort and the tower, on a barren cliff, without any other buildings around it. ‘Huisje Hart’, as it is called, has been restored and houses a restaurant.
