Savaneta Police Post
Category: Other Districts
After WW-II, government buildings like Police stations and housing for police personnel were designed by the Curaçao Public Works Department and the designs were repeated in several constructions, most of which needed to be finished in short time and at low cost. This no frills architecture, characterized by L- or T-shaped floor plans, were found in government buildings both in Oranjestad, San Nicolas, Savaneta and Noord.
The Savaneta police post has been restored by the Monuments Bureau in 2024. It is now again serving as the Savaneta KPA (Korps Politie Aruba) Police post.
It is on the Monuments Bureau’s list of protected monuments.
The adjacent Savaneta police housing has also been restored to its former glory.
In Noord, at the traffic circle next to the church, there a similar police post, not protected as a monument however.
